CenTex is always looking to introduce new officials to the high school game.  Whether you have never called a game before, or are transferring from another chapter, we would be interested in speaking with you.

• There is currently a large need in Central Texas for quality High School umpires. When you become a High School umpire you will have the opportunity to work as much as your schedule permits.
• High School games are fast paced and fun because the players are talented athletes. Pitchers throw strikes. Batters put the ball in play. Fielders make plays. The games matter. Join today to be part of the action.
• Umpiring gives you a chance to “give back” to the sport. Maybe your base running isn’t what it used to be… don’t worry, umpiring lets you stay involved with the sport you love. When you become an umpire you will be able to help the developing high school players by advancing the ideals of good sportsmanship and fair play.

Why Join the Cen-Tex Chapter of the Texas Association of Sports Officials?

• The Cen-Tex chapter is dedicated to the success of every umpire member. This is accomplished through no cost classroom training, on field clinics, supervised scrimmages, game evaluations, and personalized mentoring programs. Every new member will receive all of the instruction, encouragement, and feedback necessary to become a great umpire!
• In the Cen-Tex chapter there is no seniority bottleneck. Just because you haven’t been in the chapter for years doesn’t mean you will have to wait for big games. You will have the opportunity to develop as fast as your abilities permit, and as soon as you demonstrate the necessary skills you will be able to work Varsity and upper level high school games.
• The Cen-Tex chapter is a close knit community of like-minded umpires. We officiate games with our friends and colleagues. When you join the chapter you will experience firsthand the camaraderie that results from an atmosphere of respect and appreciation.
